Nusa Penida is a unique and exotic island to visit. It is in the southern part of Bali and is the biggest of the three Nusa islands(Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan are the other two) We took the West Nusa Penida day tour.Generally pick up from hotel is around 8am and will be headed to Sanur Beach from where we will be taken in speed boats to get to the Nusa Penida Island. We have to walk through a small distance in the sea to reach the boat and all the footwear are thrown into crates so better to wear flip flops. It is approximately 45min boat ride.Upon arrival to the island, the driver will take in car and the first stop is Angel’s Billabong, natural infinity pool. The roads are narrow, rocky and very bumpy!
Next stop is Broken Beach. It is a large cave that lost its roof from time to time.
Next stop is the Kelingking beach, stunning white sand beach. This is the most famous spot. The cliffs form in the shape of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. In the picture below, you can see the head with mouth wide open! This is taken from the view point.
There is a path down to the shore but the steps are very steep. We didn’t go down as it’s not recommended with young kids.
Later there will be a stop for traditional lunch which is included in the tour. We can select one item from the mains and one from the juice menu.
Crystal Bay beach, water is so clear and good for snorkeling.
Next time we will plan to stay in Nusa Penida,it’s definitely worthy.
